About Us:
The Lake Saint Louis Fire Protection District is located in the
heart of St. Charles County, Missouri, near the intersection of
Interstate 70 and Highway 40/61. We cover a response area of approximately
7 square miles and protect a population of about 12,000 persons.
We are a combination department comprised primarily of volunteers
with a small career staff. Presently we have 26 Traditional Volunteer
Firefighters, 21 Reserve Volunteer Firefighters, a career staff
of 7, and a part-time Fire Inspector, Administrative Assistant,
Recording Secretary, Accountant and Attorney. Three elected Directors
oversee the Fire District Board.
The Fire District is comprised of three divisions:
Administration, Operations and Fire Prevention/Code Enforcement.
The Administrative Division provides human resources, future planning,
research, loss prevention, budgeting and accounting, record keeping,
inventory control and governmental relations. The Operations Division
provides all emergency services, departmental training and equipment
and facilities maintenance. The Fire Prevention/Code Enforcement
Division provides new construction building and fire prevention
code inspections, building plan reviews, issuance of permits, annual
fire prevention inspections of all commercial properties and occupancy
permit inspections for both commercial and residential properties.
The Fire Prevention/Code Enforcement Division is also responsible
for coordinating and conducting all public fire safety education
activities such as demonstrations, safety talks and station tours.
